Please join Freedom House and Congressman Adam Schiff at a reception honoring 11 digital activists from the Middle East and North Africa who are in Washington as part of Freedom House’s Study Tour on New Media Activism.  These digital activists are innovators in using internet technology to build grassroots movements and actively advocate for human rights and democratic reforms in Algeria, Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, and Yemen. 

 

 

 

Featured Guest: Esraa Abdelfattah Rashid, the young activist who helped to launch a nationwide strike in Egypt in April 2008 using Facebook and pioneering what the New York Times refers to as ‘Facebook activism’.
