An Adulterated Remedy!
Published in September 15, 2010
Translated by: Ahmed Fathy
Firstly:
1- In the state-owned Cairo-based newspaper Akhbar Al-Yom, in Egypt, on 6th of March, 1993, an official Azharite scholar/clergyman has written an article titled "The View of Islam on Terrorism", and he writes that (... Islam prohibits violence and aggression against people and putting souls to death without retribution from committers of murders; God says in the Quran: "...And do not kill the soul which God has made sacred, except in the course of justice..." (17:33) ... Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon his soul) in a hadith repeated and asserted this fact when he said that a man is not to be put to death except in three cases: if he commits murder, if he commits adultery while he is married, and if he forsakes his religion of his faction...).
2- This Azharite writer, by quoting this silly nonsensical hadith, has defeated the purpose of his article; he should have quoted only Quranic verses. This silly hadith he quotes encourages and incites terrorism; this hadith was invented during the Abbasid Era, ascribed falsely to Muhammad, but Muhammad is innocent of such idle talk. Callers of terror quote this hadith and base their terror and massacres of innocent ones on it. terrorists declare all society and citizens as 'infidels' who have rejected 'Islam' and they massacre the innocent people anytime anywhere using the so-called apostasy penalty (i.e., putting 'heretics' to death), while assuming that this way, they apply Islam! In fact, they apply the Sunnite Wahabi sharia of terrorism; as long as such hadiths are left unquestioned and remain without Quranist refutation, the religious Wahabi terror shall infest the Arab region for long decades.
Secondly:
1- This Azharite writer should have written his article in a different way if he really cares about attacking and eliminating terrorism; he should have quoted ONLY Quranic verses. This writer should have written the following: (... Islam prohibits violence and aggression against people and putting souls to death without retribution from committers of murders; God says in the Quran: "...And do not kill the soul which God has made sacred, except in the course of justice..." (17:33)&(6:151). Thus, the only exception to allow putting someone to death is when he/she is a murderer. This is the Truth descended with the Quran; this is the Quranic Truth from God: "With the Truth We sent it down, and with the Truth it descended..." (17:105). The Quran is the only source of the Absolute Truth. Thus, we are to follow only the Quranic Truth; people are to put to death only those who commit murder(s): "And We wrote for them in it: a life for a life..." (5:45). There is no other cases when putting people to death would be allowed; otherwise, corruption will dominate the Earth as massacres would spread. The Quran considers that putting innocent ones (i.e., those who never killed anybody) to death as corruption on Earth, as we read the following verse after the Quranic story of the two sons of Adam, the murderer and the murdered one: "Because of that We ordained for the Israelites that whoever kills a person - unless it is for murder - has done corruption on Earth - it is as if he killed the whole of humankind; and whoever saves it, it is as if he saved the whole of humankind..." (5:32). This miraculous verse predicts our bleak era of Wahabi religious terrorism, as Wahabi scholars issue fatwas to allow massacring innocent, peaceful people and non-killers, by quoting such corrupt hadiths ascribed falsely to Muhammad after his death; Muhammad's name must be cleared from such criminal hadiths. These fatwas lead to the massacre of thousands of innocent people after Wahabi terrorists declare them as 'infidels' and 'apostates'! ...).
2- This Azharite writer should have written the following: (... Most scholars of the First Abbasid Era agree on the fact that the vast majority of hadiths are mere surmise and conjectures; not even one of the hadith can be 100% true; hence, within a serious issue like putting someone to death, the Quran asserts clearly that this applies to ONLY one case: murderers; we cannot put someone to death based on surmise and conjectures but by the clear proofs that he/she has committed murder(s), and the Quranic Truth is the only criterion in that respect. Thus, we find NO Quranic command to allow killing fornicators/adulterers nor those who forsook Islam or any religion of their faction/tribe. The Quran is the Absolute Truth, and hadiths and narratives of fiqh are mere conjectures. Most human beings follow surmise and conjectures and reject the Quranic Truth: "If you were to obey most of those on Earth, they would divert you from God's Path. They follow nothing but assumptions, and they only conjecture." (6:116). Such surmise will be of no avail to them in this world and the next, since they discard the Truth: "Most of them follow nothing but assumptions; and assumptions avail nothing against the Truth..." (10:36) ...).
3- This Azharite writer should have written the following: (... The Abbasid theocracy has invented to so-called apostasy penalty (i.e., putting 'apostates' to death, esp. by stoning) so that political foes and rivals were punished by the Abbasids after being accused of being 'apostates' and 'heretics'. Abbasid-Era fiqh scholars served purposes of the caliphs by ascribing such notions falsely to Muhammad in the form of narratives/hadiths that he allegedly uttered. Nothing could be further from the truth; Muhammad could never have uttered such nonsensical phrases and he never put anyone to death for rejecting Islam. Such a notion was never known nor applied during Muhammad's lifetime. Such Wahabi fatwas are being issued by extremists and terrorists to destroy the Egyptian society and to seek to establish theocracy in Egypt. We testify that Muhammad never contradicting the Quran by uttering the so-called hadiths; Muhammad was sent by God as a mercy to the humankind, NOT to terrorize and massacre the humankind: "We did not send you except as mercy to the humankind." (21:107). The vast majority of the population on Earth, in all eras, are misguiding and misguided as per this verse: "If you were to obey most of those on Earth, they would divert you from God's Path..." (6:116), and this does NOT mean to massacre them; rather, this means to attempt to proselytize and preach the Quranic Truth to them gently and peacefully, while leaving the judgment to God, the Eternal Judge, on the Last Day, as per the Quran: "And say to those who do not believe, "Act according to your ability; and so will we." "And wait; we too are waiting."" (11:121-122). The real duty of Muslim scholars is to criticize and discuss all traditional books to expose and scandalize terrorist Wahabi ideology and thought so that we clear the name of Islam from terrorism and save Egypt and Egyptians ...).
Lastly:
This is what this Azharite clergyman and scholar should have written if they seek real remedy (i.e., Quran) and not an adulterated one (i.e., hadiths and fiqh); but we fool ourselves if we expect him to write in this vein one day; we ourselves have been persecuted because of our call to discuss and criticize ancient traditional books of heritage of the Muhammadans. In our book titled "Al-Sayed Al-Badawi between Facts and Myths" published in 1982, in Cairo, Egypt, we have predicted that the Mubarak regime and people in authority will go on with their conflict against brainwashed Wahabi terrorist youths as long as such hadiths and narratives are being sanctified by Azharite clergymen and by the masses. Terrorism spreads now in Egypt in the 1990s and even when some Azharite clergymen try to refute terrorism in their articles, they quote hadiths inciting and urging more terrorism, as if they try to extinguish fire with kerosene! These hadiths are explosives that will ruin our beloved Egypt!
N.B.: this article has been published in the Cairo-based independent newspaper Al-Ahrar within a series of articles of ours titled (Thus Spoke the Narrator), on 3rd of May, 1993, and this article is still valid till today, till this very moment, as if it were written today. The reason: Azharite clergy do not read anything; if they ever read anything, they never understand, and if they would understand, they would die immediately!
