Activating the Quranists to handle the war of ideas

 Who are the Quranists?

The QuranistMuslims are intellectual Muslims who believe in Islam as the religion of freedom, democracy, tolerance, justice and human rights. They fight the terrorists’ culture from within Islam, using Quran as the only source of legislation. The Quranists are about ten thousands in Egypt only, but their seniors are about forty scholars and thinkers, totaling approximately 200 individuals (including their family members). The Quranists have suffered three waves of arrest; in 1987, 2000: 2001, and the third wave started in May 28^th, 2007. Five of the Quranists have been arrested, tortured and interrogated and accused of ridiculous accusations.

Reason for Persecution by the Egyptian Regime and Fanatics

The Quranic movement has started in 1979 as a reaction towards the Muslim Brothers and the Wahhabi fanatic influence in Egypt. Being sincere Muslim scholars who are specialized in the contradiction between Islam and the Culture of Muslim Brothers and Wahhabism, the Quranist scholars were victimized by the terrorists and their fanatic scholars. Many Fatwas were issued to consider the Quranists the enemies of Islam and called for killing all of them.

 Moreover, the Quranists are victimized by the Egyptian regime because of being human rights and democracy activists who call for peaceful reform from within Islam. The Egyptian regime and Muslim Brothers are usually against each other but they only become united against the helpless peaceful Quranists. The Egyptian regime still keeps them in Torra prison, the notorious jail which is jammed and controlled by the imprisoned terrorists, who believe their Jihad is to kill the Quranists.

In the same time, the Quranist families are chased and persecuted in Egypt. To save their lives, some of the Quranists had to move to Upper Egypt and some of them isolated themselves behind doors. It is well known that the Muslim Brothers culture is controlling the Egyptian streets, mosques, media and education. They use all these facilities in tarnishing the Quranists, describing them as the ardent enemies to Islam. After the Egyptian regime has officially accused the Quranists with contempt of Islamic religion, the fanatics are using this accusation to call for killing all the Quranists.

What should be done to bring the Quranists here?

The Quranists need America’s help to pressure the Egyptian regime to free the five detainees and to bring all the persecuted Quranist scholars and their family to the U.S.

Lately, the Egyptian secret services has confiscated many of the Quranists passports, and terrorizing and threatening them if they think in leaving Egypt. For its own agenda, the Egyptian regime tries to make it big problem to create a case to negotiate the U.S.

However, the Quranists in Egypt have many different situations:

The five detained Quranists and their close relatives are under siege, most of them cannot leave Egypt without permission from the secret services.

Some Quranists are unknown by the secret service, and they may can leave Egypt if they have visa from the U.S Embassy in Cairo.

Some years ago, other Quranists had escaped Egypt to save their lives, living quietly in some Arabic countries (Emirate, Saudi State, Libya and Jordon). They can come easily to the U.S if they are given visas.

The International Quranic Center can provide all the names of the Quranists to help save their lives.

Coming here safe and sound, the Quranists will devote their lives and expertise in defending the U.S. They will be the qualified soldiers in this intellectual war under the supervision and protection of any American agency.

How could the Quranists help the U.S in this war of ideas against the terrorists?

The war against terrorism is a 90% intellectual war of ideas. This intellectual war has its unique aspects and rules. The Quranists are the perfect Islamic solution that is capable of defending the U.S in this ideological war against terrorism..

The Quranists can help the U.S in three fields: waging war of ideas against the fanatic Shiites and Wahabi Muslims inside and outside of the U.S, reform Muslims from within Islam, and help the U.S foreign policy in the Muslim World.

For example, the Quranists can successfully help the U.S in activating many projects, including:

1. Reforming the Islamic mosques and Islamic schools inside and outside of the U.S.
2. Preaching the peace culture in the Middle East.
3. Preaching the Islamic world, including Egypt, to accept the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as Islamic laws according to the real core of Islam instead of their  (Shareeah) which is their fanatic Wahabi legislation.
4. Reforming Al Azhar of Egypt: Al Azhar is the oldest and the most prestigious university in the entire Islamic world. It is “the Vatican” and the religious authority of the entire Muslim Sunni world. Al-Azhar is currently upholding Wahabism and the bloody culture of Muslim Brothers and Hamas. Reforming Al-Azhar from within Islam will terminate the main source of the violent culture of Wahabism.
5. Spreading the culture of democracy and human rights in the Muslim World.
6.  Waging an Online War against terrorism in the Arabic websites to fight the ongoing brainwashing of the Muslims’ youth by Wahabism.
7.  Defending the American image in the Muslim World.

What Is Needed to Continue the Mission?

1. The International Quranic Center that leads the Quranists all over the world does not even have an office in Washington D.C. It needs seed money to begin its active work in D.C.

1. With modest funding Quranists can wage the Arabic online war against terrorism. We can hold conferences inside and outside America to organize all the Quranists in the entire world to be together against terrorism, and to recruit the open-minded Muslim scholars to face the culture of terrorism.

1. Other goals that need more funding are establishing:

1. School near Washington D.C to recruit American Muslims to become open-minded Imams or chaplains for Muslims in American military and prisons.
2. High Islamic institute to create high qualified scholars professional in the sacred secret side of the Muslim tradition and heritage. It can also serve as an advising body for the American agencies in the deepest fields of the culture of fanatic Muslims.
3. Arabic library to collect unknown Arabic scriptures and manuscripts (the originals and/or their copies) which contain the confidential Arabic Muslim text books.

1. Another project is using drama that addresses the silent Muslim majority to undeceive them, and to defend the American image. I have 22 movie scripts that can be turned into movies, but I lack the connection with an American film maker to bring this project into life. This project of drama can fulfill 80% of our mission. It needs only a company of making Arabic movies here in the U.S.
