Question: … Dear Sir, … I do believe the lunar Hijri calendar contains some errors:..............This means Ramadan is not in the right timing as it should be.........I quote these historical events from the Umayyad Era to prove my point:.............Astronomical calculations might be faulty sometimes.............. … Thank you …
Answer:
The Umayyads were never aware of what you have written; they had no time for theorization and science; besides, it is absurd to assume that the Arabic word (Ramadan) means 'hot weather'; lunar months (and consequently fasting and pilgrimage) have nothing to do with the solar calendar and the four seasons; of course, we have written about calendars and Ramadan while quoting Quranic verses (in the English articles found in the links below); please read more within our archive.

It Is OK to Avoid Them, But...
Published in April 25, 2020
Question: … Dear Sir, … Since my conversion to Quranism as the Only True Islam, I removed the veil/hijab and I began to see Islam in a new light; I feel liberated now; yet, my parents are horrified as they refuse my new stance regarding Islam; they hate my removing the veil; they have decided never to talk to me anymore; I tried to win them over to my side, but in vain......... Each time I make a phone call to any of my parents, this ends up in shattering my nerves and I feel as if I am gonna die of sorrow! This is truly what is called emotional embezzlement; as if this way, they would convince me to wear the hijab and believe in hadiths once more! This will never happen, of course. .............. I think they hate me now and, for my part, I no longer love them; my question now is as follows: Is it OK that I now live away from them to avoid problems and to avoid their verbal abuse and insults? ....... What do you think? … Thank you …
Answer:
You are more than welcome to our Quranism website. It is OK for you to keep away from them; yet, you have to phone them every now and then while seeking to gratify the Lord God; i.e., you should apply the following Quranic verse about parents (after the Quranic commands to be kind to them): "But if you turn away from them, seeking mercy from your Lord which you hope for, then say to them words of comfort." (17:28). May the Lord God bless and protect you.

To Swear by the Quran
Published in April 26, 2020
Question: … Dear Sir, … Is it OK or not, as far as Quranism is concerned, to swear by the Quran and to swear on a copy of it by touching it while making a solemn oath or a vow? Any ideas? … Thank you …
Answer:
This is never OK; monotheists swear only by/in the Holy Name of the Lord God; besides, this should be performed within piety, fear, and reverence within one's heart/soul.

Imprisonment as a Penalty
Published in April 26, 2020
Question: … Dear Sir, … Can the penalty of imprisonment be replaced by any corporal punishment? Is imprisonment alluded to indirectly as (banishment from the land) in 5:33? Any ideas? … Thank you …
Answer:
The Lord God says the following in the Quran: "The penalty for those who fight God and His Messenger, and strive to spread corruption on earth, is that they be killed, or crucified, or have their hands and feet cut off on opposite sides, or be banished from the land. That is to disgrace them in this life; and in the Hereafter they will have a terrible torment." (5:33).
Imprisonment is never mentioned as a penalty in Quranic sharia of Islam; banishment is not imprisonment; the idea of prison is mentioned in the Quranic stories only. The penalty of imprisonment is harmful to families of the prisoners when such prisoners are the breadwinners of such families; this harm inflicted on families of prisoners violates the Quranic sharia rule here: "No burdened soul can carry the burden of another..." (35:18). Banishing criminals from their villages/cities when they commit crimes mentioned in 5:33 is better as they leave while accompanying their families with them.

Balderdash and Nonsense by Sheikh Ali Gomaa
Published in April 26, 2020
Question: … Dear Sir, … Within a recent TV show, the Egyptian former Grand Mufti (or issuer of religious verdicts/fatwas) Mr. Ali Gomaa said that the prophet Idris, who is mentioned in the Quran, was the one who built the Giza pyramids and carved the Sphinx in his own image! Is this true?! What is your view of this as a historian and as a Quranist thinker?! … Thank you …
Answer:
Such views are mere nonsense and balderdash; Mr. Ali Gomaa was merely a journalist in a not-very-popular 'Islamic' newspaper in Cairo, Egypt, and he never know anything about the Quran, history, or even fiqh; his being appointed as a Mufti in the past reflects the era of gradual downfall of Egypt on all levels during the reign of Mubarak. We tend to think that Mr. Ali Gomaa adores being on the spotlight in the media by spreading strange, shocking views; at one time, he claimed he had proofs that the Queen of Britain is a descendant of Ali and Fatima (and therefore of Muhammad!). We expect that this man will continue to spread and propagate more nonsense and balderdash, in which he specializes, in the Egyptian media.

Worried about my Daughter
Published in April 27, 2020
Question: … Dear Sir, … I live with my wife and 3-month-old daughter in France as Syrian refugees; the imposed quarantine because of the Coronavirus pandemic forced us to live in the same house with my in-laws (i.e., relatives and family members of my wife); everyone loves and pampers my daughter, of course, but I and my wife never told her family members that we are both Quranists; I am afraid that even if we would have our own house one day, the influence of my in-laws on my daughter would go on as she grows up; how come that I would teach Quranism to my daughter since my in-laws are Sufis and other Muhammadans in the same city are Salafists?! Even my own parents (who live in Damascus) are Sufis and interfere in the upbringing of my daughter through video-calls since I am their only son and she is their only granddaughter!........ We live in a city where most residents are atheists anyway, but I feel very much worried about my daughter; I desire that she would be a Quranist believer like me and like her mom. What pieces of advice would you give me?! … Thank you for your time …
Answer:
May the Lord God bless and protect you and your family; please wait for the coming new episodes of our YouTube show (Quranic Moments) in which we talk about raising and bringing up children especially within mixed marriages (i.e., when spouses who are parents have different religions, but they adhere to peace which is Islam in term of behavior). As for you, you should bear in mind that your living in the same house with your in-laws is something temporary; sooner or later, you will live with your wife and daughter in a separate house and lead a lifestyle of your own choice; your precious daughter will grow up and you will teach her the monotheism of (There is no God but Allah) and all higher Quranic values (mercy, tolerance, honesty truthfulness, generosity, justice, chastity,...etc.) as well as all acts of worship. Of course, you and your wife will be role-models to her in your life in France. Please, our dear son, do not worry too much; you are still in the first step of a long route of married life; rely on the Merciful Lord God and put your trust in Him; glorified be His Holy Name the Lord of the worlds.

Successive Words in the Quranic Text?
Published in April 27, 2020
Question: … Dear Sir, … There are many successive words in some of the Quranic verses: (...and...and...and...and...) and I wonder what the reason might be when such words qualify one thing or one person................ … Thank you …
Answer:
This style is found in both the Arabic tongue and the Quranic tongue; in the Quranic tongue, successive words explain and detail one another; for instance, the repeated Quranic phrase (the Book and Wisdom) refers to one thing: the Divine Scripture (i.e., the Quran or any other Celestial Book by the Lord God) as the source of wisdom and NOT to two separate items. Differences among Quranists, Again!
Published in April 27, 2020
Question: … May articles of several Quranists writers on your website show different views regarding the same topics; besides, away from your own website, many online writers/bloggers who claim being Quranists offer a widely different views from yours regarding many Quranic terms and Quranic verses............ How come?.............. …
Answer:
We do not care about the lines/schools of thoughts of others even if they label themselves as (Quranists); of course, Quranists of our own school of thought have their own constitution:
http://www.ahl-alquran.com/English/show_article.php?main_id=15303
It is normal that one finds different views in articles by Quranists on our website; Quranists are not parrots who blindly repeat what our person writes and advocates; each one of them has his/her own ponderings on the Quranic verses. We learn from one another within free speech in our platform (ahl-alquran.com), and we have a shared basis: never to believe in any of the so-called hadiths.

Angels and the Successor on Earth
Published in April 28, 2020
Question: … Dear Sir, … The Lord God says the following in the Quran: "When your Lord said to the angels, “I am placing a successor on earth.” They said, “Will You place in it someone who will cause corruption in it and shed blood, while we declare Your praises and sanctify You?” He said, “I know what you do not know.”" (2:30); how come that angels knew about bloodshed and corruption since Adam is the first human being? Any ideas? … Thank you …

A Question of Inheritance
Published in April 29, 2020
Question: … Dear Sir, … A woman who lives in the USA lost her husband recently; she has no children; the Quranic sharia inheritance laws allow her to have 1/4 of the money left by her deceased husband; what is she supposed to do with the rest of the money? She wants to gratify the Lord God and obey His Quranic legislations........Any ideas? … Thank you …
Answer:
We urge her to look for the living nearest of kin of her deceased husband to give them their due shares of inheritance money; for instance, his parents, siblings, paternal uncles, and/or sons/daughters of his paternal uncles. If the deceased husband has no inheritors apart from her, she (i.e., his widow) is the only inheritor of his wealth; she should offer part of it as charity/Zakat.

From Sri Lanka
Published in April 29, 2020
Question: … Dear Sir, … Peace and greetings of the Lord God be with you.......I have been taught as a scholar/sheikh the Sunnite doctrine, and I studied fiqh and theology and the Arabic tongue for seven years in a Sunnite religious institution in Sri Lanka and I was appointed as a sheikh and a teacher upon graduation; indeed, I've always noticed that many hadiths contradict the Quran; I am glad to find a great thinker like you whose focus is on Quranic terminology; I know I will benefit a lot from reading your great writings and I will get to know true notions of Islam; may the Lord God bless you......... … Thank you …
Answer:
You are more than welcome to our Quranism website (ahl-alquran.com); we prove in our writings that the terrestrial Sunnite, Shiite, and Sufi religions of Satan have nothing to do with Islam which is the Quran only; we elucidate Quranic facts of Islam; since you are interested in Quranic terminology, we urge you to read first our many articles within that topic; of course, many of our other writings show the contradiction between the Quran, on the one hand, and the hadiths and fiqh notions in the Middle-Ages books revered by the Muhammadans on the other hand.

How Muhammad Was Harmed in Mecca
Published in April 29, 2020
Question: … Dear Sir, … Was the harm inflicted on Muhammad in Mecca by polytheists confined to insults and slanders? Was he harmed physically or not? What about this Quranic phrase about Muhammad: "...And God will protect you from the people..." (5:67)? Were the early believers in Mecca tortured by disbelievers or is this a myth? Any ideas? … Thank you …
Answer:
Of course, Muhammad belonged to the high-rank families of the Hashemites: a powerful faction of the Qorayish tribe in Mecca; he was never harmed physically; his being harmed was confined to verbal abuse, insults/slanders, and being ridiculed/mocked in public as well as being accused of sorcery and madness. This is part of the Qorayish scheming of evil (their scheming is mentioned in the Quran) by spreading rumors against Muhammad to belittle him; this is like psychological war; this was their anti-Quran propaganda. Of course, the Lord God has protected Muhammad from physical harm by people to allow him to perform his mission of conveying the entirety of the Quranic Message. Of course, in the Quran, the Lord God defends Muhammad and refutes accusations leveled against him. In many Quranic verses, the Lord God has commanded Muhammad to adhere to patience and to never care about their insults and schemes/rumors. Their last schemes in Mecca against Muhammad is mentioned here: "When the disbelievers plotted against you, to imprison you, or kill you, or expel you. They schemed, and God schemed, but God is the Best of schemers." (8:30); Such schemes resulted in Muhammad's leaving Mecca and his immigration to Yathreb. As for weakened, poor believers in Mecca, they were physically harmed and tortured; this is inferred from this Quranic sharia law about allowing them, in case of being threatened or coerced, to utter blasphemies or words of disbelief (or renouncing their belief) to get away from their polytheistic persecutors: "Whoever renounces faith in God after having believed - except for someone who is compelled, while his heart rests securely in faith - but whoever willingly opens up his heart to disbelief - upon them falls wrath from God, and for them is a tremendous torment." (16:106). This is further explained in our article, in English, about Taqiyya, found on the following link:

Two Quranic Terms for (Sharia)
Published in April 30, 2020
Question: … Dear Sir, … What is the difference between the Quranic terms (sharia) and (shara'a)? Both refer to sharia law, right? Any ideas? … Thank you …
Answer:
There is no difference at all; the Law of the Lord God is essentially one in all divine messages received by messengers/prophets; i.e., namely, to worship the Lord God within monotheism and piety and never to be divided in religion; yet, divisions have occurred because of polytheists (e.g., the Muhammadans) who have followed their whims and committed sins and injustices: "He prescribed for you the same religion He enjoined upon Noah, and what We inspired to you, and what We enjoined upon Abraham, and Moses, and Jesus: “You shall uphold the religion, and be not divided therein.” As for the polytheists, what you call them to is outrageous to them. God chooses to Himself whom He wills, and He guides to Himself whoever repents. They became divided only after knowledge came to them, out of resentment among themselves. Were it not for a predetermined decision from your Lord, judgment would have been pronounced between them. Indeed, those who were made to inherit the Book after them are in grave doubt about it." (42:13-14); "Or is it that they have partners who issue for them religious laws never authorized by God? Were it not for the conclusive decision,it would have been settled between them. The unjust ones will have a painful torment." (42:21). Some details in sharia differ from one nation to the other within several eras: "And We revealed to you the Book, with truth, confirming the Book that preceded it, and superseding it. So judge between them according to what God revealed, and do not follow their desires if they differ from the Truth that has come to you. For each of you We have assigned a law and a method. Had God willed, He could have made you a single nation, but He tests you through what He has given you. So compete in righteousness. To God is your return, all of you; then He will inform you of what you had disputed." (5:48). The Quranic sharia is from the Lord God, and therefore, there is no other source of Islamic sharia except the Quran; yet, the misguided ones follow their inclinations and desires and reject the Quran: "Then We set you upon a pathway of faith, so follow it, and do not follow the inclinations of those who do not know." (45:18).

About the Quranic Verses 37:45-47
Published in April 30, 2020
Question: … What is meant by this Quranic context about one of the pleasures of in Paradise: "They will be offered a cup of pure drink. White; a delight to those who drink. Never polluted, and never intoxicating." (37:45-47)? … Thank you …
Answer:
This means that wine of the Eternal Paradise differs from the wine in this world; the wine of this world causes intoxication and a headache/hangover and its taste is bitter; in contrast, the wine of Paradise is sweet and never causes any harmful effects within drinkers: "The likeness of Paradise promised to the righteous ones: in it are rivers of pure water, and rivers of milk forever fresh, and rivers of wine delightful to the drinkers, and rivers of strained honey. And therein they will have of every fruit, and forgiveness from their Lord..." (47:15).

About the Quranic Verse 3:39
Published in April 30, 2020
Question: … Dear Sir, … What is meant by the underlined parts in this Quranic verse about glad tidings of the birth of John brought by the angels to Zachariah:" Then the angels called out to him, as he stood praying in the sanctuary: “God gives you good news of John; confirming a Word from God, and a master/sayedan, and chaste/hasooran, and a prophet ..." (3:39)? Of course books of exegeses never give readers a decided opinion regarding any Quranic terms, as you know....... … Thank you …
Answer:
The first term (master) means that John will be an honorable leader of a high stature among his people; the second term means that John will be a chaste man who will never commit fornication or succumb to carnal lusts.

About Moses' Pharaoh, Again!
Published in May 1, 2020
Question: … Dear Sir, … I have a couple of questions about Moses' Pharaoh and the Israelites in the Quran................ … Thank you …
Answer:
Of course, Moses' Pharaoh is a symbol of tyranny in all eras; he and his unjust deep-state soldiers/people of many ranks drowned in the Red Sea and they continue to suffer a type of Barsakh torment until the Hour takes place; he and his unjust people are imams/leaders to all disbelievers/tyrants who follow their footsteps. The Lord God Is Above and Beyond Time
Published in May 1, 2020
Question: … Dear Sir, … I'd like to pose a question about the use of tenses in the Quranic verses esp. the ones regarding the Lord God......... … Thank you …
Answer:
Of course, the Lord God is Above and Beyond the element of time; He is the Creator of time; there is no sense of the past, present, or future in the Upper Realm of the Lord God. Of course, the present tense employed in some Quranic verses indicates permanent facts regarding the Omnipotent and Omniscient Lord God and also regarding deeds and features of human beings in all eras. The past tense employed in the Quranic verses about the Hour and the Last Day indicates inevitability of the events involved in both cases which will occur in the future of humanity.
