The Divine Revelation and Moses
Published in November 4, 2018
Question: … Dear Sir, … The Lord God Is Omnipresent; why did Moses have to go to Mount Al-Tur in Sinai to hear the voice of the Lord God talking to him? What do you think? … Thank you …
Answer:
We think that God is never to be questioned; only the human beings can be questioned: "He will not be questioned about what He does, but they will be questioned." (21:23). God has chosen Moses as a prophet/messenger at a certain point in time and He has chosen to grant Moses the Divine Revelation, the Covenant, and the Tablets of Scriptures at Mount Al-Tur in Sinai, Egypt.

A Question of Inheritance
Published in November 4, 2018
Question: … Dear Sir, … Would the son of a sister inherit a deceased man (who was his maternal uncle) who had no children along with the son of the brother of the deceased man? … Thank you …
Answer:
In case the deceased man had no progeny and no living brothers and sisters, the son of the late brother of the deceased man has an inheritance share, but the son of the late sister of the deceased man has no inheritance shares at all.

My Quarrelsome, Pampered In-Law!
Published in November 4, 2018
Question: … Dear Sir, … I'm a married man who lives in Cairo, Egypt, and my wife recently gave birth to a male baby; I lead a happy married life; yet, when my mother-in-law came from her village to stay for few weeks to take care of her daughter, she was accompanied by her adolescent, pampered son (the brother of my wife). Before getting married, as a fiancé, it was very irritating to see my mother-in-law spoil and pamper her good-for-nothing son as if she were his servant or chambermaid! This spoilt son typically shouted at his mother while demanding to be served and fed! My fiancée at the time (my wife now) used to be embarrassed by the behavior of her younger brother; she was forced by her mother to serve this pampered brother … This impudent, impertinent brother of my wife shouted at my face (under my roof!) as he demanded to be served by me and my wife (his sister) along with his doting mother! I tried to talk to him calmly to convince him that his behavior is quite insupportable; he screamed at my face! At one time, days later, he insulted me and I lost my temper and gave him a severe beating! I threw him out of my house; his mother screamed at me; I threw her out of my house minutes later. My infuriated wife never talks to me now; she refused to listen to me when I told her that her bother deserved to be beaten as he was spoilt and corrupted by her mother; yet, my wife feels furious and insulted because I threw her mother and brother out of my house; she tells me I should have been patient enough until they leave and return to their village; I told her such behavior of her brother is unbearable and that our baby needs her full attention; she should have never obeyed her mother by serving her brother like a slave! Please give my wife any piece of advice so that she and I would reconcile! Please tell her that I am not in the least to blame! … Thank you …
Answer:
You are absolutely right in what you have done; if we were in your shoes, we would have done just the same thing.

Inheritance Left by Muhammad?
Published in November 5, 2018
Question: … Dear Sir, … The polytheistic Shiites believe in the myth that their supreme deity, Ali, and his descendants were the inheritors of Prophet Muhammad; let's suppose that Prophet Muhammad left a sum of money before his death; how such a sum would have been distributed and who would have been the rightful inheritors of such a sum? Would Ali receive any inheritance share in that case or not? What is your view as a historian and a Muslim thinker? … Thank you …
Answer:
The Shiites have their own mythology which includes the story about an orchard supposedly owned by Muhammad which was inherited by Fatima, wife of Ali and daughter of Muhammad, and that some Qorayish men confiscated this orchard and took it from her by force. This narrative is untrue because it disregards other inheritors; i.e., wives of Muhammad. As for your question, if Muhammad left a sum of money, his wives would have 1/8 of it to be distributed in equal shares among them; his daughter Fatima would have 1/2 of this sum; the rest of the money would go to his paternal uncle, Abbas, who outlived Muhammad. Thus, Ali and his two sons would receive no inheritance shares at all, even if Shiites would not like it; to Hell with those Shiites, anyway.

Menopause and Conjugal Sex
Published in November 5, 2018
Question: … Dear Sir, … I'm a wife who is about to reach the age of 60; menopause made me hate having sex with my husband; in fact, having sex has become hateful and nauseating for me! We have grown up daughters and sons and ten grandchildren; yet, my husband is still oversexed and we argue a lot because he demands sex on a daily basis and I refuse to satisfy him! When he threatened to take up a second wife, I begged him to do this to relieve my suffering, because I can no longer bear with his sexual demands! Yet, as I think of it, I would hate him very much if he married another woman! This made me feel forced to satisfy his sexual needs, even if this is getting on my nerves! I hate having sex with him now more than ever! I feel physical and psychological pains! Days ago, I decided to sleep in another bed within a separate room of our house to get some relief. What am I supposed to do?! By the way, I never believe in hadiths and so is my husband; yet, to serve his whims, he keeps reminding me daily of the silly hadith about 'angels' cursing wives all night long if they forsake their husband's beds and never satisfy the lusts of their husbands! What do you think?! Any advice?! … Thank you …
Answer:
A husband has the right to satisfy his need for sex with his wife; of course, he has to approach your body and emotions within words and foreplay within sufficient duration so that she would be pleased and get satisfied sexually in her turn; you should be happy that your husband still loves you and desires you sexually; do not prevent him from having his sexual rights. What you have to do is to tell him how to turn you on within foreplay on both the emotional and sensual/physical levels so that all negative feelings would get out of your brain. Apparently, your husband rarely employed foreplay during the previous years of your marriage; this may be the cause of your hating sex with him now. At your age, your feelings of hating sex have increased and this caused you to reject him sexually and forsake his bed; we do think that you should continue having sex with your husband after you teach him how to perform foreplay for as much time as you desire in order to turn you on and make you feel physically and emotionally satisfied; he must be keen on pleasing you as much as he is keen on pleasing and gratifying himself.

About the Quranic Verse 6:79
Published in November 6, 2018
Question: … Dear Sir, … The Lord God says in the Quran that Abraham said the following to his people: "I have directed my face towards Him Who created the heavens and the earth – as a monotheist; and I am not among the polytheists."" (6:79) … My question is as follows: What is the link between both creation and monotheism (or avoiding polytheism)? … Thank you …
Answer:
We have answered a similar question in previous articles, fatwas, and videos; we repeat here briefly that creation is directly linked to the innate, natural instinct of monotheism inculcated into the souls of all human beings by the Lord God the Creator of the heavens and the earth (i.e., the universe). This instinct of monotheism within human souls is referred to in this verse: "And when Your Lord summoned the descendants of Adam, and made them testify about themselves. "Am I not your Lord?" They said, "Yes, we testify." Thus you cannot say on the Day of Resurrection, "We were unaware of this."" (7:172). Abraham's internal monologue in 6:74-78 drove him to announce monotheism in 6:79.

About History and Backbiting!
Published in November 6, 2018
Question: … Dear Sir, … I do not like history at all; it is nothing but lies, rumors, slanders, and backbiting others (who are dead); this is against Islam, right? What is your own opinion? … Thank you …
Answer:
Backbiting others, spying on them, and mocking/ridiculing them are prohibited, in the Quranic Chapter 49, among living people within their society; history is not backbiting at all; it is all about registering deeds and recording events, Of course, whims and prejudices interfere in historical accounts and writings; all human writings may contain (un)true things; unlike animals, human beings have memories and they learn from history and past mistakes. Besides, Quranic stories are true accounts/history of ancient peoples and their prophets/messengers; the Quran contains the story/history of Muhammad as well. The Quranic stories aim at drawing moral lessons in relation to guidance. Of course, the Quranic methodology of history differs from methodology of historians. History has nothing to do with backbiting.

The Rights of An Underage Girl
Published in November 6, 2018
Question: … Dear Sir, … When my mother died, my father married another woman and a son and a daughter are the result of this marriage; at one time, my father threw me out of his apartment ; I moved to Cairo and lived on my own and worked to support myself; when my father died, my step-mother took all his money and his apartment; I received no money at all; she gave all the money to her son to use them in investments; her son lost all the money; when they felt needy and saw that I have money of my own (from my savings and my work), they suggested that I buy their shares in the apartment; I agreed and thus the apartment is mine now; I bought it in return for LE 100000 (less than its real value) … Years later, a buyer has come to me now, and he is desiring to purchase my apartment in return for LE 250000; I know it's my right to sell it and enjoy the financial benefit; yet, my consciences pricks/pangs are driving me crazy! I feel I took advantage of the neediness of my step-mother as if I sought revenge; my underage sister is blameless and I feel that I owe her a measure of financial protection; her brother and mother wasted all the money; I feel I must care for my underage sister; her mother and brother sold me their shares of the apartment willingly but no one asked for the opinion of this sister; my question is as follows: if I sell the apartment for LE 250000, shall I give my sister a sum of money? How much, then? Any advice?! … Thank you …
Answer:
You are indeed a pious man; of course, you can consider her right as the amount of her share in the apartment wasted by them; of course, the purchase of their shares of the apartment was legal and done within mutual consent; you are not to blame for this; you can give your underage sister (within a bank deposit in her name) the sum of money (after you sell the apartment) which is equal to her share in the apartment; you can make arrangements so that she can receive the money upon her coming of age; i.e., upon her reaching the age of 21 or upon getting married; this way, her mother and brother will not steal and lose her money. This way, your will have a clear conscience and rest assured that you have done your duty towards your underage sister. May the Lord God bless and reward you.

Jumbles of Dreams
Published in November 7, 2018
Question: … Dear Sir, … I'd like you to interpret my dream/vision if you possibly can: I saw that I'm walking in a funerary procession and the dead person is Prophet Muhammad; I and other people tried as much as we can to stop a man (whom I used to know and who died years ago) from taking a photo of the dead body of Prophet Muhammad … By the way, I never deify Prophet Muhammad. Is this dream an indication of anything to come? … Thank you …
Answer:
These are jumbles of dreams; they are meaningless and foretell nothing at all.

Move Away from this Sufi Sheikh!
Published in November 7, 2018
Question: … Dear Sir, … I got acquainted with a Sufi sheikh and I visited him frequently within the past months; yet, since then, strange things have happened to me; it is as if I'm possessed with devils and I need an exorcist! This Sufi sheikh seems to control my mind now! I know it and I cannot resist it! I do not like this at all! … Please, for the love of God, I need a cure or a solution from you! Any advice?! … Thank you …
Answer:
Move away from this Sufi sheikh at once! What have caused you to know such a polytheistic charlatan who is after your money?! You must get busy performing good deeds and acts of worship while seeking to gratify only the Lord God; hence, you may get nearer to God within monotheism and piety (after you get rid of Sufi-Sunnite polytheistic ideas and clear your mind and soul) in this world and you may be among those nearer to God in the Hereafter within the Last Day.

Epithets and Descriptions of Prophets
Published in November 10, 2018
Question: … Dear Sir, … What is the difference between both names in the Quran: (Christ/Messiah) and (Jesus son of Mary)? … What do you think about this variation in the names of Jesus in the Quran? … Thank you …
Answer:
Of course, the word (Christ/Messiah) is like a surname or an epithet/description to the prophet whose first name is Jesus. The expression (son of Mary) indicates his being born miraculously without a biological father and that he was a mortal human being. Jonah is described in the Quran as (the man of the whale) in 21:87. Jacob is described/surnamed as (Israel) in 19:58 and 3:93. Abraham is described as (God's friend) in 4:125. Muhammad is described as the (Seal of All Prophets); i.e., the Last Prophet of God, in 33:40. Thus, the surname or description/epithet of each prophet of the Lord God indicates a certain distinguishing feature/trait, as far as we know and infer from the Quranic text.

Marriage Contracts, Again!
Published in November 10, 2018
Question: … Dear Sir, … Why, in the Arab countries, does the bridegroom have to put his hand (typically under a handkerchief, in the presence of witnesses who will sign the marriage contract) in the hand of the bride's father or any elderly male relative of hers during the drawing of marriage contracts?! Why would not the bridegroom take the bride's hand instead? This would be more logical to indicate holy matrimony and mutual consent, away from patriarchal authority, right? What is your own view of this? … Thank you …
Answer:
Of course, you are absolutely right; mutual consent between a man and a woman before drawing the marriage contract is necessary. The bride can either choose someone to represent her within the drawing of the marriage contract or to draw it herself and put her hand into the hand of the bridegroom within the presence of witnesses; in both cases, she must sign the marriage contract herself.

A Foolish Father!
Published in November 10, 2018
Question: … Dear Sir, … My father never completed his education; he was the only son of his parents who pampered and spoilt him; he lives entirely for his own pleasure; he seeks nothing but pleasure; after the death of my grandmother, my weak grandfather succumbed more to fulfilling the wishes of my father who was a very spoilt adolescent. At the age of 20, my father got married and he has three sons (I'm his first-born son); my father never cared for me and my brothers; he never played the role of a father; his sole aim in life is to enjoy as many pleasures as possible without bearing any responsibility for his wife (my mother) and his sons; the father-figure in my life was my grandfather who cared for my mother and her three sons (financially and otherwise) until his death. This is because at one point in time during my childhood, my father forsook the bed and company of my mother and had extramarital (sexual) relationships with many women; later on, he divorced my mother and insisted on driving her out of the apartment along with her three sons! Yet, my grandfather (who owned the house and all its apartments) drew a contract to sell the apartment to my mother so as to protect his grandchildren and to prevent my bad-tempered father from getting her out of the house. My father was furious and he decided that he shall never see my mother ever again; sadly, my mother was in love with him despite everything he did; on her deathbed, she wished to see him; he never went to see her before her death, though I told him she was dying! My grandfather died later on, hating his ungrateful son more than ever; my father never cared to please my mother and my grandfather; he never visited grandfather on his deathbed! My father never worked all his life; he spends money lavishly on his friends in restaurants and cafés and on many whores or girlfriends! I and my brothers graduated from the university and got jobs; my two brothers went abroad later on; they work in one of the Gulf monarchies now; I remain in Cairo because of my job; I bore patiently with the misconduct and verbal insults of my father; he's grown old and weak now; I have to take care of him; I give him money because he lost all money he's inherited from my grandfather; he now owns only the house of my grandfather; the problem is that he now intends to marry a bad woman who used to be his girlfriend; she is 30 year younger than him! She demands that he would give her, as a gift, the house he inherited from grandfather! I live now in the apartment of my late mother; this is the only apartment my father does not own in the house; I feel that my father (who desire to spite me and my brothers) would readily marry this whore and give her the rest of the house as a gift! This woman controls my father now! This means that I and my brothers will not inherit the house in case my father dies! What is to be done?! Some people advised me to sue my father to confiscate his house, upon grounds of his unstable state of mind as he is an old man now and can be deceived easily! … Shall I sue my father to confiscate the house to protect my rights and the rights of my brothers?! What do you think? … Thank you …
Answer:
Yes, we think that you should sue him to confiscate his money and possessions; you should protect your father from his foolishness and from this young cunning, scheming woman; your father in his old age must remember to repent and live within piety; he seems never to think of death and his old age; he should remember that he is the father of three men.

The Silliest Rumor Ever
Published in November 11, 2018
Question: … Dear Sir, … I read about a rumor that the apparition/spirit of the dead Libyan president, Kaddafi, appeared in a vision/dream to some people, asserting to them that he was not murdered and that he was a martyr; what is your own view of this rumor? … Thank you …
Answer:
This is the silliest rumor we have ever heard in our life; it is reminiscent of silly Sunnite-Sufi hadiths of visions/dreams fabricated by the impious authors of the Middle-Ages about elevating the dead to the so-called 'sainthood'; we think that the 'rumor'/dream you should be interested in is Kaddafi being tormented in Hell while hastening Arab tyrants to die soon enough so as to join him!

Quranists Take Pride in Being a Minority
Published in November 11, 2018
Question: … Dear Sir, … Were all Muslims in all eras in the wrong and were polytheists until the Quranists, a minority, have emerged in the 1980s in Egypt as the only monotheists?! This is quite impossible! I think that you are exaggerating! … Thank you …
Answer:
Quranists take pride in being a minority within this era; in fact, in each era, there are a minority of human beings who are deemed as pious believers/monotheists/Muslims who never deify things/relics/mortals/creatures/mausoleums. In most cases, those monotheists hid their faith for fear of being persecuted or put to death by aggressive polytheists. In contrast, Quranists are monotheists who declare, preach, and announce their faith within the cyberspace; they believe that Quranism is True Islam/monotheism; many of them have been persecuted and imprisoned. Do not feel happy and gloat over Quranists because the vast majority of Muhammadans disagree with them and hate their Quranism; the Quran tells us that in all eras, most people are polytheists who reject monotheism in God's Books/Messages and who fabricate false, devilish revelations. You should ponder deeply on these verses: "Likewise, We have assigned for every prophet an enemy - human and jinn devils - inspiring one another with fancy words in order to deceive. But had your Lord willed, they would not have done it. So leave them to their fabrications. So that the hearts of those who do not believe in the Hereafter may incline to it, and be content with it, and that they may perpetrate whatever they perpetrate. "Shall I seek a judge other than God, when He is the One who revealed to you the Book, explained in detail?" Those to whom We gave the Book know that it is the truth revealed from your Lord. So do not be of those who doubt. The Word of your Lord has been completed, in truth and justice. There is no changing to His words. He is the Hearer, the Knower. If you were to obey most of those on earth, they would divert you from God's path. They follow nothing but assumptions, and they only conjecture." (6:112-116). In fact, we do believe that Muhammad was the first Quranist (i.e., he believed in no books besides the Quran); most of Muhammad's contemporaries rejected and disbelieved in the Quran: "Say, "He is Able to send upon you an affliction, from above you, or from under your feet. Or He can divide you into factions, and make you taste the violence of one another. Note how We explain the revelations, so that they may understand." But your people rejected it, though it is the truth. Say, "I am not responsible for you." For every happening is a finality, and you will surely know." (6:65-67); those disbelievers were the vast majority of Arabs at the time; they repeated your stance which we infer from your question. You should ponder on these verses: "...By the renowned Quran. Those who disbelieve are steeped in arrogance and defiance. How many generations have We destroyed before them? They cried out when it was too late to escape. And they marveled that a warner has come to them from among them. The disbelievers said, "This is a lying magician." "Did he turn all the gods into one God? This is something strange." The notables among them announced: "Go on, and hold fast to your gods. This is something planned. We never heard of this in the former faith. This is nothing but a fabrication. Was the message sent down to him, out of all of us?" In fact, they are doubtful of My warning. In fact, they have not yet tasted My torment." (38:1-8). Algeria and Arab Nationalism
Published in November 12, 2018
Question: … Dear Sir, … I am an Algerian man … Many Algerians believe that Pan-Arabism or Arab nationalism is part of Islam; I disagree with that; they have convinced most Amazigh that Islam and the Arabic tongue/culture are inseparable; this could not be true, right?! What is your own view? … Thank you …
Answer:
The universality of the religion of Islam has nothing to do with the endeavors by some people to confine Islam to the Arabs, Arab nationalism, and the Arabic tongue. Of course, many Algerians continue to try to marginalize the Amazigh culture and to impose the Arab culture and the Wahabi ideology by linking them forcibly to Islam. when Algeria was liberated from the French occupation, Wahabi Sunnite fanatics and Arab nationalists assumed that they must get rid of the francophone culture and the Amazigh culture. Of course, introducing Sunnite/Wahabi clergymen into Algeria led to corruption, violence, and terrorism as opposition movement of theocracy-seeking Wahabis struggled against the military rulers. This has nothing to do with Islam.

Sincere Repentance of a Man Converted to Islam
Published in November 12, 2018
Question: … Dear Sir, … I've met a man who was a former Christian who converted to 'Islam' (or rather, the Sunnite religion assumed to be 'Islam') six years ago; he told me that 13 years ago, he accidentally killed a person as he was driving his car; he paid diyya money to the folks of the victim as per laws at the time; he still suffers pangs of conscience; the Sunnite sheikhs told him not to worry as his conversion to Islam removes past sins! Is that true or not? This man converted to Quranism, as the Only True Islam, months ago; he told me he rejects hadiths and fiqh and he believes only in the Quran as the Only Source of Islam; he requested from me to ask you what is to be done by him to make amends and atone for this sin of manslaughter; how would he know that the Lord God has accepted his repentance? Is he to observe fasting for 60 days or not? Any ideas? What is your own view? … Thank you …
Answer:
Of course, he must repent, whether he is a Quranist, a Sunnite, a Shiite, a Sufi, a Christian, etc. Sincere repentance entails correcting one's faith to follow the monotheism of (There is no God but Allah) and by making amends to the wronged parties (e.g., like paying diyya money as mentioned in the above question). The last step of sincere repentance is to perform many good deeds (e.g., paying charity donations) and extra acts of worship to make God accept this repentance and forgive the sins atoned for by performing good deeds and making amends. We infer this from the following Quranic verses: "And I am Forgiving towards him who repents, believes, acts righteously, and then remains guided." (20:82); "And those who do not implore besides God any other god, and do not kill the soul which God has made sacred - except in the pursuit of justice - and do not commit adultery. Whoever does that will face penalties. The torment will be doubled for him on the Day of Resurrection, and he will dwell therein in humiliation forever. Except for those who repent, and believe, and do good deeds. These - God will replace their bad deeds with good deeds. God is ever Forgiving and Merciful. Whoever repents and acts righteously-has inclined towards God with repentance." (25:68-71).

Masculine and Feminine Words in the Quran
Published in November 12, 2018
Question: … Dear Sir, … It baffles me that Abraham in the Quran refers to pagan, inanimate idols/statues of his polytheistic people as gods (i.e., males) and sometimes as goddesses (i.e., females), as I infer from these verses: "My Lord, these goddesses have led many people astray..." (14:36); "..."Do these gods hear you when you pray?" (26:72) … Is there a certain rule about the use of masculine and feminine Arabic words in the Quran? What do you think? … Thank you …
Answer:
Within the grammatical rules of the Arabic tongue, there is no neutral words; words are either masculine or feminine; hence, inanimate things could be referred to using masculine or feminine forms. Besides, there is historical evidence that ancient nations thousands of years ago worshiped female divinities (i.e., goddesses) with or without male ones (i.e., gods) who were deified dead persons who enjoyed high stature and greatness within such ancient nations.

Supplications of Sunnites after the Dawn Prayers!
Published in February 23, 2015
Question: … Dear Sir, … I typically read (but sometimes forget to do so) a certain number of Sunnite supplications after I perform the dawn prayers … Is this OK or not? Are such supplications after the dawn prayers a religious duty/obligation in Islam or not? What is your own opinion? … Thank you …
Answer:
We think that you should never pronounce such Sunnite supplications; it is better that you implore the Lord God and supplicate to Him in any way you like during prostration in the daily prayers while feeling that you are nearer to Him: "...prostrate and come near." (96:19). This means that piously prostrating and kneeling down to God during prayers is the best time and opportunity to implore the Lord God and to supplicate to Him. Please do not pay any attention to Sunnite notions in general, especially regarding the daily prayers performed by Sunnites without piety, reverence, and fear of the Lord God.
