How millions of Muslims are totally oblivious of 39:45!
Qur’an 39:45 “When God alone is mentioned, the hearts of those who do not believe in the Hereafter are filled with aversion, but when others are mentioned besides Him, they rejoice.
. وَإِذَا ذُكِرَ اللهُ وَحْدَهُ اشْمَأَزَّتْ قُلُوبُ الَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالْآخِرَةِ وَإِذَا ذُكِرَ الَّذِينَ مِنْ دُونِهِ إِذَا هُمْ يَسْتَبْشِرُونَ " (سورة الزمر 45
Indeed, this verse is one of the most prominent examples of a Qur’anic verse that have been corrupted through false interpretation.
The genuine reader of the Qur’an will readily accept the meaning given in God's words without the need to add a word here or there that change the meaning.
Before analyzing the true significance of this glorious Qur’anic verse a reminder must be given of 18:109.
Qur’an 18:109.“Say: “If the sea were an inkwell for the words of my Lord, then the sea would run out before the words of my Lord run out;” even if We were to bring another like it for its aid.”
This verse a clear message that God is not short of any words. If the Qur’anic truth contained in any Qur’anic verse could be made clearer by inserting extra words, God would have done just that. When God gives us a particular phrase he means what the phrase says precisely. To add extra words by any interpreter that either restricts, enlarges or alters the meaning is a grave corruption and must be guarded against.
The reader of the Qur’an is advised to accept the straightforward meaning given in God's words. The reader of the Qur’an must always be aware that God is the most efficient in expressing any meaning.
When we read 39:45, mentioned earlier, we note the important words "but when others are mentioned". Note here that God said "others". God did not restrict the meaning of "others". Consequently, we must not restrict the meaning of God's words in any particular sense. As a result, the word "others" could mean prophets, saints, idols, other gods or simply any others.
Sadly, some of the interpreters who would do anything to favor their idols, and when they interpret this verse, have added the words (other gods) after the Qur’anic word "others". By doing so, they imply that God is only speaking about other gods. But in reality, and because God did not specify those meant by "others", it could include other gods, but also all idols, these could be prophets, saints, Imams, anything, etc.
In an attempt to disguise their deliberate manipulation of this verse, or indeed many other verses, they state that the Qur’an is not easy to understand, and that only one of their entourage is eligible and qualified to interpret it!
However, if they would just stop 'interpreting' God's words, and instead start to accept the simple and obvious meaning, then they and their readers may indeed understand the Qur’an.
Needless to say, their claim that the Qur’an is difficult to understand is in clear contradiction to God's description of the Qur’an.
We are told that the Quran is clear:
Qur’an 12:1 “A.L.R, these are the signs of the clarifying Scripture.
Made easy to understand:
Qur’an 44:58.” We have thus made it easy in your language, perhaps they may take heed.
Straightforward and without any ambiguity:
Qur’an 39:28.” A compilation in Arabic, without any crookedness, that they may be righteous.
By accepting the obvious and true meaning of 39:45, mentioned earlier, we realize that God has indeed given us a true criterion here for God's pure servants. They are the ones who are content with the name of God ALONE, but the impure ones will not be satisfied unless their idols are mentioned alongside God.
Those who idolize Jesus, Muhammad or any other prophet will not be happy if you mention God alone.
The testimony that there is no god but God (La Ilah Ila Allah) is the first pillar in all the Scriptures given by God to mankind. This first pillar of Islam has been distorted. The reader is once again reminded that the only testimony (Shahada) that is authorized by God in the Qur’an is found in:
Qur’an 3:18. “God bears witness that there is no god but He, as do the Angels, and those with knowledge, He is standing with justice. There is no god but Him, the Noble, the Wise.
Note: It has no name in it except the name of God. Millions of Muslims are not content in saying 'there is no god but God (la Ilah Ila Allah). They insist on adding the name of Muhammad besides the name of God in their testimony. They call it the 'second' Shahada, But God authorized only one Shahada in the Qur’an.
The Qur’an's great criterion in 39:45 stamps such Muslims who insist on uttering a second testimony as disbelievers:
ذَلِكُمْ بِأَنَّهُ إِذَا دُعِيَ اللهُ وَحْدَهُ كَفَرْتُمْ وَإِنْ يُشْرَكْ بِهِ تُؤْمِنُوا فَالْحُكْمُ لِلَّهِ الْعَلِيِّ الْكَبِيرِ " (سورة غافر 12)
Qur’an 40:12 “This is all because when God alone was mentioned you rejected, yet when others were associated with Him you believed’ Judgement belongs to God the Most High, the Most Great.
الموروث قال لنا أن الصلاة عماد الدين"”
