نص السؤال
Dear Dr subhy, I am a Kurdish teenager from Kurdistan, I wanted to know whether it is permissible to pray salah in my native language ?(from a Quranist perspective) Allah (SWT) says in the Qur\'an 4:43 (O you who have believed, do not approach prayer while you are intoxicated until you know what you are saying...) I am sure that the majority of Kurds including me don’t understand the meaning of verses that we recite five times a day, Allah created me as a Kurd why I have to pray to him in Arabic which is not my language. Best regards.

The Answer

You must pray in your language and to be humble in your prayers. It means to understand what you say using your own language. This heart feeling is the real language among humans regardless of time and place. It will be common communication on the Day After.
