I am a medical doctor, a private practicing physician, a general practitioner, or a family doctor as they say in the USA. I have found a great number of Vitamin-D-Deficiencies among the female Muslims. Whenever a female Muslim comes to have any blood sample done I automatically have 25-OH-Vitamin-D made too, and mostly it's too low. Because the must wear the head cloth, and because they seldom leave the house. They don't get any sun. We have talked a lot about what the Quran says that a woman must wear. I talk to deaf ears

God bless you. You are absolutely right.
Covering head and hair has nothing to do with Islam. It is OK for woman to pray and to work and to travel without covering her head. In Ablution before prayer we wash what is usually uncovered like face, head, hair,.etc.
Verse( 24 : 31 )talks only in covering the Chest of woman (Al Khemar )not her head.
This Hijab is something that they need to have themselves distinguished in their Diaspora, giving them the feel of being different and being better than others.
