The verse 282 in Sourat Bakara ( Chapter II Al Bakara ) states with this regards : ". And if there are not two men (available), then a man and two women, such as you agree for witnesses " this is required only in financial transaction and where the testimony is oral. This legal command's finality is deduced from the verse " so that if one of them (two women) errs, the other can remind her " which is reminding/ correcting the content of the testimony . However since it has become now possible to record testimonies and evidences given by women or men thru legal means then there is no longer a need for a back up testimony to verify its veracity therefore both men and women's testimonies are worth equally. Note that the finality of a legal command prevails over the command itself. On the other hand, as to giving evidence in court men's and women's are equal.
