About the Quranic Verse 17:9

Published in March 30, 2020

Question: … Dear Sir, …  What is meant exactly by this Quranic phrase: "This Quran guides to what is most upright..." (17:9)? Any ideas? … Thank you …

Answer:

It means that the Holy Quran guides to the most upright religion or the True Islam based on piety and righteousness: "...Judgment belongs to none but God. He has commanded that you worship none but Him. This is the upright religion, but most people do not know." (12:40); "They were commanded only to worship God, devoting their religion to Him alone, and to perform prayers ad Zakat. That is the upright religion." (98:5); "Say, “My Lord has guided me to a Straight Path, an upright religion, the religion of Abraham the monotheist, who was not a polytheist.”" (6:161).

Man Tends to Err; God Never Errs

Published in March 31, 2020

Question: … Dear Sir, … I think you've contradicted yourself in one of your YouTube episode and in one article of yours about 41:11......... … Thank you …

Answer:

Man tends to err, glorified be our Lord God Who never errs. The Lord God says the following in the Quran: "Then He turned to the sky, and it was smoke, and said to it and to the earth, “Come, willingly or unwillingly.” They said, “We come willingly.”" (41:11). We said that all creatures obey the Lord God; the humankind are the only creatures who, as free agents, can choose to (dis)obey and (dis)believe. This view is asserted in our writings and videos. There is no contradiction between our YouTube videos and our articles. Maybe you have unintentionally misunderstood our words. Of course, our viewpoints might contain errors and good points; we never desire our open-minded readers to follow them blindly but to ponder them within a critical mind.

About Different Quranic Text Styles

Published in March 31, 2020

Question: … Dear Sir, … I have a question about some Quranic verses that differ in their styles despite the similarity of the content: ............ There are no contradictions in the Quranic text, I suppose, right?! .........  … Thank you …

Answer:

There are different styles employed in the Quranic text, including employing human-related words to indicate qualities/deeds of the Lord God and employing the same word twice (or more) to refer to different levels of meaning within the same topic or context. We refer you to our book titled (Meccan Revelation and Yathrebian Revelation in the Holy Quran) for more details. True Quranists never cast doubt on the Quran by assuming it contains contradictions; such a wrong assumption of yours is based merely on both your ignorance and your willful misunderstanding of the Quranic text. This is the Lord God's description of the Quran: "Falsehood cannot approach it, from before it or behind it. It is a revelation from One Wise and Praiseworthy." (41:42). We refer you also to our book titled (How to understand the Holy Quran), found in English and in French on the following links respectively:

Harmful Mosques Which Are Former Churches

Published in March 31, 2020

Question: … Dear Sir, … As far as Quranism is concerned, is it OK that one would perform prayers in mosques which were churches turned into mosques? Or are they harmful mosques to be avoided? Any ideas? … Thank you …

Answer:

This is not a matter of any importance; this should not be your concern; what matters most is to avoid all mosques of polytheism which spread devilish lies/falsehoods/hadiths and urge people to deify mortals. You would better pray at home.

Question: … Dear Sir, …  I have a couple of questions about the dress code for women in Islam............................... … Thank you in advance …

Answer:

Both niqab and hijab have nothing to do with Islam. The Quran requires that outdoors, women should cover their breasts and legs. Please read/search within our archive of writings and our YouTube videos (in the subtitled-into-English episodes within the two shows titled: Exposing Salafism & Quranic Moments) before posing repeated questions to save our time and effort; we have discussed this topic many times in our articles.

About the Quranic Verse 7:199

Published in April 1, 2020

Question: … Dear Sir, … What is meant by this Quranic phrase "...and avoid the ignorant ones." (7:199) since the vast majority of human beings in all eras are ignorant as far as religion/monotheism is concerned? Any ideas? … Thank you …

Answer:

This Quranic phrase means to avoid arguing with polytheists who reject the Quran since they refuse the Truth when preached to them: "...and avoid the polytheists." (6:106 + 15:94). You are to avoid the polytheistic Muhammadans, who propagate and adhere to their terrestrial religions of Satan, when they argue against the Quranic verses and aim to undermine, ridicule, and cast doubt on them: "The servants of the Dominant Lord are those who walk the earth in humility, and when the ignorant ones address them, they say, “Peace.”" (25:63); "And when it is said to them, “Come to what God has revealed, and to the Messenger,” they say, “Sufficient for us is what we found our forefathers upon.” Even if their forefathers knew nothing, and were not guided? O you who believe! You are responsible for your own souls. He who has strayed cannot harm you if you are guided. To God is you return, all of you, and He will inform you of what you used to do." (5:104-105).

About Cattle in the Pre-Quran Era Arabia

Published in April 1, 2020

Question: … Dear Sir, … I cannot understand the Quranic context 6:136-139 ............ … Thank you …

Answer:

Inthe pre-Quran-era Arabia, polytheistic Arabs dedicated sacrificial animals to their gods/deities/saints and they ascribed this polytheistic act of worship to the Lord God as part of their attributing lies/falsehoods to His Religion. Sadly, this is repeated by the polytheistic Muhammadans who slaughter sacrificial animals to honor their entombed (fe)male saints/gods like what we see at the shrines/mausoleums of Hussein, Zeinab, and Al-Sayed Al-Badawi in Egypt.

Not Marriage; This Is Fornication!

Published in April 2, 2020

Question:  … Dear Sir, … Two days ago, I married a woman within mutual consent and I paid her a dowry, but there were no witnesses to sign the paper I wrote with her. Is this marriage valid or not?  … Thank you …

Answer:

It is invalid; this is fornication and not marriage. How ignorant you are! True believers never satisfy their carnal lusts without thinking! In Islam, marriage contracts must be signed by (at least) two witnesses and the marriage must be made public (i.e., known to all people where you live). Marriage contracts must be registered officially in the country where you live; besides, marriage contracts are drawn ONLY after making sure that the divorced/widowed woman has passed the waiting period to make sure she was not pregnant.

This Is Not Possible Now

Published in April 2, 2020

Question: … Dear Sir, … I admire your great Quranist writings and I have converted to Quranism; yet, I feel sad that you and other Quranists worldwide are not united and connected within team-work to unify your efforts exerted to serve True Islam; I mean that all Quranists should be one team to reach worldwide media and, of course, the media in the Arab world to preach Qurnaism on a larger scale; Quranists must reveal themselves in all Arab countries and Iran if religious reform would be introduced effectively; we, Quranists, must rely on the Lord God and never fear the persecution by Sunnites and Shiites. ........ Quranists must have strength/might to protect themselves and their religious freedom ........... … Thank you …

Answer:

What you propose is very good and might occur in the future, we hope, after our own death; yet, it is not possible now. At this stage, we know quite well that Quranists are among the weak ones on earth; they are helpless and conceal their faith to avoid severe persecution in Iran and in the Arab world; most of Quranists write articles and comments on our website using pen-names or pseudonyms; this is understandable and they are not to blame. Quranists among our own family members in the West (i.e., inside the USA and Canada) announce their faith without fear; yet, we fear for our poor fellow Quranists in the Arab world and we advise them most of the time to conceal their Quranism so as not to suffer severe persecution and/or imprisonment. Of course, those who feel safe in Egypt or elsewhere in certain social milieus can proselytize and preach Qurnaism openly and announce their faith outspokenly. May the Lord God bless and protect you, our son.

Her Husband and the Coronavirus

Published in April 2, 2020

Question: … Dear Sir, … I am a young, unmarried woman .... My female relative is wronged very much by her cruel, heartless husband; he always beats her severely for no reason and he uses his influence to terrorize her family members; at one time, she left his house after a quarrel and stayed at her father's along with her sons, but he cruel husband literally dragged her out of her helpless father's house while her sons were weeping and crying in fear; he forced her to stay at his house and never to leave it ....... When I visited her, she told me she invoked the Lord God on a daily basis nowadays that her husband would be carried off to an early grave esp. if he would die of the Coronavirus epidemic; she asked me if it is OK to utter such supplications and invocations to incur God's wrath against her husband, the father of her sons, and I told her I will ask you, dear doctor, about this; what do you think?    … Thank you …

Answer:

It is permissible in Islam that the wronged parties should invoke the Lord God's wrath against the unjust ones within any type of supplications/invocations. Besides, whether your female relative would do so or not, the Lord God takes revenge against the unjust ones in this world before admitting them to Hell in the Hereafter. We advise your female relative to adhere to patience and prayers and to stay at her home for the sake of her sons; i.e. in order to bring them up properly and so that her husband would continue to spend on her and on her sons; she should not seek divorce if she has no job or no income of her own. She must be assured that the punishment inflicted on the unjust ones by the Lord God may be postponed but it is inevitable.

Pilgrimage and the Coronavirus

Published in April 3, 2020

Question: … Dear Sir, … Do you think I should postpone my pilgrimage journey to the next year if I fear the Coronavirus epidemic? Any ideas?  …  Thank you …

Answer:

Yes you should; this is OK. You, of course, make a supposition that the KSA would open the pilgrimage season this year 2020; this is most unlikely, we think, unless the epidemic would end before the pilgrimage season. Pilgrimage might not be allowed so as not to risk adding thousands of people to the list of those who were diagnosed as Coronavirus-positive cases and the list of those elderly people who died of the Coronavirus. For more details about being prevented from reaching Mecca to perform Hajj/Umrah, please read or book on pilgrimage found, in English, on this link:

Thanks for the Pieces of Advice, but...

Published in April 4, 2020

Question: … Dear Sir, … I am a newcomer to your great Quranism website; I have some suggestions and pieces of advice. (1) Your website should be redesigned for easier navigation and browsing. (2) I dislike very much the articles by some Quranists who live in the West about the so-called numerical 'miracles' in the Quranic text: the Quran is a book of guidance and not a book of mathematics, omens, and predicting the future through numerical values given to Arabic letters of Quranic words. (3) I'd like that your articles from now on should be briefer, smaller, and more to the point; too much verbosity in the Arabic writing style causes boredom to most modern readers. May the Lord God bless you …  Thank you …

Answer:

Thank you very much, our son, for your pieces of advice and suggestions. We agree wholeheartedly with you that our website needs to be developed in several directions; yet, our financial resources are scarce and our means are still very modest; we are barely able to maintain the existence of our website. We also agree with you that some articles of ours in former years are too long; in fact, our recent articles in the past three years at least are shorter; most of the time, we make our points/paragraphs as short as we can unless we quote lines from references and history books. We are quite aware of the fact that we are a trendsetter for other Quranist writers. We quite disapprove of your view about the numerical miracles of the Quranic text; this is a new branch of science in our modern world whose universal tongue now is numbers/digits; expectedly, this burgeoning field of research might contain some errors at first; more discoveries in that field will be made, we are sure. As for our person, our readers should bear in mind that we are a 71-year-old man who works alone; we have no secretaries to assist us; we edit our Arabic writings and correct any misspellings as much as we can, especially when some of our dear fellow Quranists indicate such mistakes to our person. Of course, we take pride in being a prolific author in the fields of history, religious reform, and political reform. We also reply to hundreds of emails with questions posed to our person in English and in Arabic. We are busy making the second group of thousand episodes of our YouTube show titled (Quranic Moments). This is why we repeatedly ask our readers not to pose repeated questions before reading our entire archive and watching all our videos; we have no time to repeat what we have written; our efforts are not as they used to be years ago. We focus and make a conscious effort not to be conscious of the pains in our joints and our back as we write. Many newcomers are lazy and desire a ready answer and feel furious if we would not provide one or when refer them to other articles or books of ours; why do not they search our website? Why do not they have patience enough to read our archive first? May the Lord God come to our help and aid.

You Are Welcome as a Commentator

Published in April 5, 2020

Question: … Dear Sir,  …   I am a lawyer who lives in Morocco; I admire your great Quranism website very much and I've converted to Quranism as the Only True Islam; I regret being heedless in the previous years when I adhered to Sunnite myths/hadiths; I follow now your Quranist research methodology and I've written brief articles and I'd like to share them online within your great website, but how? ..........   … Thank you …

Answer:

Of course, you can send us your CV or data and the supervisor of our website, Dr. Othman M. Ali, will send you your username and password; yet, you are welcome at first as a commentator only for a while. Later on, you may be promoted as a writer of articles based on the quantity and quality of your comments; yet, we do advise you to read more within our archive and within articles by other Quranists on our website before writing anything online. Sadly, many enthusiasts begin writing too early and they write more while they read less. We hope you will not be among such people. Reading more will help you write original ideas and to avoid repeating inadvertently any ideas published before by other Quranist writers.

Against the Shiite Religion

Published in April 5, 2020

Question: … Dear Sir, … I'd like you to dedicate more articles about criticizing the Shiite religion and to refute/debunk its myths and hadiths; I know you can do it; the main accusation leveled against you by Salafists/Wahabis in Egypt is that you are a Shiite man pretending to be a Quranist thinker. You are to me the only role-model and trailblazer; you are one of a kind, really. I feel so glad to have come across your great website; my life has been changed to the better forever thanks to you...May the Lord God bless and protect you..... …  Thank you …

Answer:

Thank you very much, our dear son, and we assure you that Shiite Sufism is criticized within our PhD thesis of 1977 published on our website; we have also criticized the Shiite religion of Satan in our very first book published in Arabic in Cairo, Egypt, titled (Al-Sayed Al-Badawi between Truth and Myth); it is published now on our website; we prove in this book that this Sufi saint worshiped by thousands of Egyptians (until now!) was merely a Shiite spy/agent  and a troublemaker who pretended to be a Sufi sheikh to execute a scheme to restore the Shiite Fatimid caliphate in Egypt after its collapse. Yet, his secret political movement failed and some current Sufi orders in Egypt and elsewhere, which have a Shiite tendency/flavor, are its offshoots. The Lord God does not burden a soul beyond its capacity; we got busy since the early 1980s in refuting and debunking the Sunnite hadiths and notions and in rereading the Quran within a scientific methodology; we fought against the Saudi Sunnite Wahabism which is the cause of terrorism and obscurantism; we and the early Egyptian Quranists were persecuted and imprisoned in the late 1980s. We have defended the rights of Egyptian atheists, Copts, and Shiites, but they never defended our person or our Quranism and freedom of religion. In many of our articles, and some of our books and fatwas, we criticize in some passages some Shiite notions and gods (especially Ali and Hussein); we responded to many emails sent to us by Shiites. Our book about criticizing the seminal Shiite book of hadiths titled (Al-Kafi) by Al-Kulayni is not finished yet; we have no time for it. May the Lord God come to our help and aid. Articles exemplifying our refutation of Shiite notions and defense of Shiite persons and their political and religious freedom are found in English on the following links:
