1- People are divided into two types: one type recommends and purifies oneself to gratify our Creator with good deeds, true faith, and elevated sense of morality. This good type of people is pious and God-fearing as one eschews evil deeds prohibited by God in the Quran and feels that the good deeds done by one are not sufficient or perfect. One should always fear that one's good deeds might be unacceptable to God. God says in the Quran describing the pious: "Indeed, they who are apprehensive from fear of their Lord,And they who believe in the signs of their Lord,And they who do not associate anything with their Lord,And they who give what they give while their hearts are fearful because they will be returning to their Lord -It is those who hasten to good deeds, and they outstrip [others] therein."(Al-Mu'minun - 57:60). The other type comprises the ones who worship their fancies and follow their whims in all aspects of life: they commit sins and evil deeds and justify them simultaneously, and they become extremist materialists in an evil manner and justify and ratify evildoing by legalizing 'religious' permissions for wrongdoers. Evil persons are used to sanctioning evildoing as a kind of 'religious' commitment and duty! For instance: theft is a sin, but thieves as wrongdoers do steal the whole time and justify their evil ways and sanction it via sharia law! They do this 'religious' justification by lying to God and attribute falsehoods and faulty interpretation to His sharia (i.e., the Quran) by adding volumes and tomes of shameless lies (that include interpretation, hadiths, fiqh schools, fatwas…etc.).
2- Historically, some People of the Book (i.e. Jews and Christians) took money of Arabs illegally at the time of Prophet Muhammad. Because this serious issue repeats itself in all human societies, it is mentioned in the Quran along with its remedy: "And among the People of the Scripture is he who, if you entrust him with a great amount [of wealth], he will return it to you. And among them is he who, if you entrust him with a [single] silver coin, he will not return it to you unless you are constantly standing over him [demanding it]. That is because they say, "There is no blame upon us concerning the unlearned." And they speak untruth about Allah while they know [it].But yes, whoever fulfills his commitment and fears Allah - then indeed, Allah loves those who fear Him."(Ali-Imran – 75:76). The same occurs in the occident nowadays; some Sunnites in the west act as cons who justify their fraudulent ways, thefts and embezzlements from people in the countries that host them. They justify stealing non-Muslims in the west by fatwas! This is very insulting to Islam.
3- The catastrophes lie in sanctioning theft and stealing by legalizing them as religious duties! They deem these horrible fraudulent acts as 'jihad': they kill people indiscriminately in streets, means of transportation, mosques, and other houses of worship. The Quran mentions wrong and evil deeds that Arabs before the advent of Islam used to commit and claim that God ordered them to do them and that they found their forefathers do them, because these deeds might reoccur. God says in the Quran after mentioning Adam's falling into temptation of Satan: "…Indeed, We have made the devils allies to those who do not believe. And when they commit an immorality, they say, "We found our fathers doing it, and Allah has ordered us to do it." Say, "Indeed, Allah does not order immorality. Do you say about Allah that which you do not know?"Say, [O Muhammad], "My Lord has ordered justice and that you maintain yourselves [in worship of Him] at every place [or time] of prostration, and invoke Him, sincere to Him in religion." "(Al-'Araf – 27:29).
4- This latter evil type of people transforms human fancies into sharia laws in their human-made religions. They attribute their crimes to God! What a grave sin! This type of people is controlled by the Devil who made them hate good deeds and love evil deeds as the right things to do for the sake of benefit. This type of evildoers never heeds any advice. God says in the Quran: "Then is one to whom the evil of his deed has been made attractive so he considers it good [like one rightly guided]? For indeed, Allah sends astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. So do not let yourself perish over them in regret. Indeed, Allah is Knowing of what they do. "(Fatir - 8).
Self-blaming soul and evil-instigating soul:
1- The criterion here is that self-recommending soul recommends itself to God by doing good deeds and blames itself for any negligence, whereas the evil soul is one's slave and deity at the same time. This self-deification is being a slave to one's whims and fancies and therefore to the devil.
2- The Quran contains an understanding of the human psychology; the meaning of the term 'soul' entails a long article, but we will select what is suitable to our article here. According to the Quran, there are degrees of the human soul that live in the human body and control it throughout one's life on earth. Those who recommend themselves to their Creator maintains their alter ego that control other degrees of the soul; i.e., to control instincts and carnal lusts and to regulate them in accordance with the divine law in the Quran. This control allows no room for fancies of committing evil deeds. God says in the Quran: "And [by] the soul and He who proportioned it,And inspired it [with discernment of] its wickedness and its righteousness,He has succeeded who purifies it,and he has failed who instills it [with corruption]."(Ash-Shams – 7:10). Hence, those who succeed in the test of life are those who take a conscious decision to recommend themselves to God by good deeds, controlling their fancies and whims while fearing God and hoping to enter His Paradise. All human beings will be divided into two parts in Doomsday: one part that committed evil and unjust deeds and loved life on earth to the extent of denying the Afterlife: "Soas for he who transgressed, and preferred the life of the world,Then indeed, Hellfire will be [his] refuge."(An-Nazi'at – 37:39). The other part comprises the pious who worked hard to earn the Eternal life in Paradise: maintaining their faith and avoiding evil and doing good deeds in life: "But as for he who feared the position of his Lord and prevented the soul from [unlawful] inclination,Then indeed, Paradise will be [his] refuge."(An-Nazi'at – 40:41).
Human freedom between the believing soul and the soul controlled by whims and fanciful inclinations:
1- Real freedom is self-control; this makes one the strongest person ever. When one fears God alone, one would never fear any other mortal. This free believer would be free as well from worshiping lusts and carnal appetites. This is called renunciation. Those who worship their bodies cannot possibly renounce or break away from any luxury, overexpress fear in times of hardships, fall into a nervous breakdown once a catastrophe occurs to them, covets everybody's wealth and riches that exceed their own, and get into fits or tantrums when pleaded to do charity work. Let us be reminded of the Noble Quran and what God says about this aspect of human psychology. "Indeed, mankind was created anxious:when evil touches him, impatient, and when good touches him, withholding [of it]" (Al-Ma'arij – 19:21). When one retains good faith in God as per the Quran alone and performing good deeds for the love of God, one succeeds in the test of life and rewarded by Paradise. "Save worshippers, who are constant at their worship, and in whose wealth there is a right acknowledged, for the beggar and the destitute; and those who believe in the Day of Judgment, and those who are fearful of their Lord's doo. Lo! the doom of their Lord is that before which none can feel secure, and those who preserve their chastity, save with their wives and those whom their right hands possess, for thus they are not blameworthy; but whoso seeketh more than that, those are they who are transgressors; and those who keep their pledges and their covenant, and those who stand by their testimony, and those who are attentive at their worship. These will dwell in Gardens, honored. "(Al-Ma'arij – 22:35).
2- In prisons, there are those inmates who sell themselves and their bodies for a cigarette, as those inmates are slaves to the cigarettes. Outside prisons, there is a bigger prison: life itself. This goes for those who follow their lusts and fancies and evil ambitions. Every time those people attain more wealth or power illegally, they never feel satisfied and become greedy and thirsty for more material gains. They fear failure, contentment, catastrophes, and submission to any supreme power. In their absolute power, they do grave injustice to others weaker than themselves, and when in dire times of need, they become cowards and lick the boots of other powerful materialists who hold authority. They are like a thirsty person who tries to quench thirst by drinking salty ocean water. The more this person drinks, the more thirst grows unbearably until death. This person's life contained no freedom but slavery to fancies, whims, and lusts. This person is the slave of the Devil. After death, such a person loses any chances to come back and do good deeds instead of being a slave to amassing material possessions. All money and material gains are immaterial in the Afterlife.
3- Your responsibility remains at your hands; you have free choice in that matter. You are to choose between being a slave to your lusts and fancies and to justify your misdeeds, and being a wise person that controls one's self and lusts. You can teach yourself renouncing any luxury or material gain that is unlawful or illegal or makes you commit sins and injustice for getting it. Stick to piety and fear of God's punishment for wrongdoers. Respect yourself and prepare yourself for inheriting the real Eternal Life in Paradise. God promises us to sustain our livelihoods beforehand. No one can cause us to die before the time predestined for our demise. God sends us hardships to test our fortitude and sends rewards as well. No one can but submit to the divine will. As long as you are alive and breathing, you are enjoying being alive and can enjoy freedom if you gain self-control.
4- Although asserting human freedom is a foregone conclusion, there is a huge difference between the notion of freedom between the secular, western culture and the dominant culture in the Arab world of the Muhammadans. A Western person would say that it is a free choice and bears its responsibility. This is even evident in movies. As for the Muhammadans, especially the Sunnites, they attribute falsely their faults and evildoing to the divine will! This is asserted in Sufism as well. This is reflected a lot in Arab movies and TV series. This notion constitutes an insult to God, according to Quranists. The Sunnites, especially Wahabis, wrongly attribute their sins of killing people to God by calling it 'jihad', their stealing is justified as booty or spoils of 'jihad', and their raping foreign women is passed for as 'enslavement' sanctioned by religion! There is great hope in reforming the secular west due to its positive aspects of human rights, justice, and respecting liberties….etc., yet there is little or no hope in reforming the Sunnite or Shiite Muhammadans as long as their human-made creeds control their lives. They deserve the Quranic description: "…their hearts are void" (Ibrahim - 43). Their destiny in God's Hell is foretold in the Quran: "And, [O Muhammad], warn the people of a Day when the punishment will come to them and those who did wrong will say, "Our Lord, delay us for a short term; we will answer Your call and follow the messengers." [But it will be said], "Had you not sworn, before, that for you there would be no cessation? And you lived among the dwellings of those who wronged themselves, and it had become clear to you how We dealt with them. And We presented for you [many] examples."And they had planned their plan, but with Allah is [recorded] their plan, even if their plan had been [sufficient] to do away with the mountains. So never think that Allah will fail in His promise to His messengers. Indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might and Owner of Retribution."(Ibrahim - 44:47). May glory be to God alone.
